Businesses Urged To Shape Future Of Digital Economy

Digital businesses in Ards are being urged to participate in a new study which aims to profile the digital sector and chart opportunities for growth.

Ards is one of six council areas which makes up the SEED (South Eastern Economic Development) region of Northern Ireland, and along with its counterparts in Armagh, Banbridge, Craigavon, Down and Newry & Mourne, has recognised the digital sector as an important growth opportunity for the economy.

Full Circle Management Solutions Ltd has been commissioned to carry out the new study which will profile the sector across the 6 council areas and identify the key issues facing owner-managers of digital businesses.

The input of those involved in digital industries is vital, according to Councillor Stephen McIlveen, Chairman of Ards Borough Council’s Development Committee:

“Digital platforms, from games consoles to mobile smart phones, have become popular on a global basis and demand is high for ever smarter solutions. Consequently, the digital sector has recently emerged as one of the fastest growing sectors in the UK and as a high added-value, knowledge-based industry, it’s exactly the kind which can contribute to a strong local economy. I would urge any businesses involved in the digital sector to get involved with the study and help to shape future strategies for support”.

Any businesses wishing to share their views on the future growth of the digital sector should contact Simon Devlin at Full Circle Management Solutions Ltd, Tel: 028 9069 1027 or simon@fullcircle.eu.com.
